The Association recognises the important part played by specialist sub-contractors in safety within the construction industry. Therefore, a comprehensive Code of Safe Working Practice was introduced in 1990.
This 80 page plus document provides a basis for safe working by our members who supply professional diamond cutting and controlled demolition services to clients in construction. In particular, it gives detailed guidance on:-
- Safety legislation
- General operating requirements
- Site setting up
This Code was updated in January 2010 and is constantly under review. Safe working will be of concern to contractors, clients, architects and other disciplines in construction, to whom copies of the code are also available.
Diamond drilling and sawing technology is increasingly being used for cutting concrete structures, highways and other construction materials including steel. Our members can provide specialist advice and equipment which can carry out cutting tasks using methods which are often faster and more cost effective than traditional ones.
Further details concerning the Association’s Code of Safe Working Practice are available from the DSA Office or by returning the attached Request Form.
By employing a DSA member company, contractors and consultants can rest assured that the firm subscribes to accepted safety standards and carries adequate insurance cover.
